Case Study 2
Client: The King's Arms, Ely, Cambridgeshire
Property: An existing and trading High Street Public House.
Project brief: To create and project manage a total design scheme. To target a different market and turn a non-profit making enterprise into one of the City's most attractive and popular pubs.
Solution: To recommend and liaise with a local contractor. To strip out all existing dated fittings including the two bar areas and public toilets. Design two bar and lounge areas with complimenting schemes but using colour to create different moods. The front bar was designed to evoke a quiet, comfortable and cosy atmosphere with sofas and upholstered chairs while the more spacious back bar became a functional dining and entertainment area. The original brick bars were removed and totally rebuilt by craftsmen in dark wood in order to create a stunning open plan bar which visually linked both lounges while becoming more functional for serving and storage.
