Client: Private client
Property: Period, four bedroom, part-thatched cottage in Bourn,
Cambridgeshire.
Project brief: To refurbish this tired and dated property completely
for the purpose of resale in a period of less than 6 months.
Solution: update kitchen, strip out and refit new bathroom with revised
layout, add a walk in wet room en-suite, add a bespoke wooden conservatory
to increase living space on ground floor, open up master bedroom by revealing
original wall beams and add en-suite shower room. Landscape gardens with new
patio, fencing and some planting. Staged and presented the property for sale.
Achievement: The property was transformed and attracted huge interest when
it was launched on the market in a series of open days. The cottage sold
within 3 to 4 weeks and the owners made a profit of £65,000.
