Case Study
Our service is split into 3 stages. You will always have the option to take
over the project yourself on completion of any stage.
1. Design Stage
Our design fee varies according to room size and scope of work.
Included in the basic design fee:
A mood board, which provides a flavour of how the room will look, and a
colour board showing fabrics, wall and floor finishes with samples and
swatches. We also provide promotional trade literature and a basic
furniture layout plan, if required. As a guide a bedroom design would
start at £350.
If you don't require a full design and only have a problem with a particular
room or require advice on the general layout of your house or furnishings
then we can visit your property and offer professional verbal advice at our
hourly rate of £40.
Following approval of room designs we will provide an estimate of finishes,
furniture and fittings with a view for you to purchase them through us.
In our experience the more detailed the brief we receive, the more accurate
our designs are. If you feel that we have not fulfilled this then we will
amend the designs within the price.
Elevations or colour rendered 3D drawings of room schemes can be provided
at an additional cost of £250 per drawing, if required.
2. Implementation Stage
The design ideas supplied are now yours to keep and you are free to create a
break point and manage the work yourself. However, for a smooth running
project we always recommend that we are closely involved in the
implementation of the designs.
In order to implement the chosen design we need to create a written
specification for each room. We highly recommend this in order to detail
the works required and to obtain accurate quotations from contractors.
These are priced from £50 to £150 per room.
At this stage you are fully equipped to find, appoint and manage your own
contractor or sub-contracting trades if you wish. If you don't have the
time or skills then we can source the trades people and project manage
the implementation at an hourly rate of £40. You will be responsible
for paying the trades people direct based on their terms of payment.
Project management includes any necessary site visits, liaising with
contractors or trades people and time in the office for consultations.
Any travel expenses and disbursements will be listed and charged as extra.
3. Materials Supply Stage
Supply of all materials such as fabrics, wallpapers, furniture, floor
coverings, lighting and accessories are supplied at competitive, often
trade, prices. A detailed quotation is supplied for your approval prior
to purchasing. Delivery charges incurred are charged on to you at cost.
General Payment Terms - for any design work the full design fee is
payable on approval of designs. Full payment in advance is required
for materials such as fabrics, trimmings, wall-coverings and paint.
A deposit of 50% is required for any larger items and making costs
such as for furniture, light fittings, curtains, upholstery and flooring.
The balance is required on delivery or fitting.
